Tailored Veterinary Services

Let us help your pet be the healthiest version of themselves, from iguanas to bunnies and snakes to dogs. We start with love and seek lasting relationships with our clients, patients, and community. It is within every animal to find balance and health, and we love being a part of you and your family’s journey.

At Vital Animal Veterinary Clinic, we care, we heal, and your family thrives.

Microchipping

A microchip is a tiny device that provides your pet with permanent identification. This gives them the best chance of coming home if they become lost. Registered chips contain your contact information, readable only by a special scanner used by veterinary teams, animal rescue professionals and shelters. With a premium subscription, lost pet specialists and a network of pet rescuers spring into action, getting the word out about your pet.

One of our team members will insert the microchip under the skin between the shoulder blades. Our staff will then register your pet with your contact information with Home Again. Once a year, HomeAgain will send you a letter asking if you want to renew your pet's microchip. You do not have to, but you can create an account anytime and change any information you need. We recommend microchipping outside pets like dogs, cats, skunks, and raccoons.

Trims - Nails, Teeth, Beaks

We are happy to trim any pets' nails, claws, beaks, or teeth. We need a phone call in advance if you prefer Dr. Lisa to see your pet, as an appointment is required. If not, a technician will proceed with the trim. If your pet does NOT like their feet to be touched, we recommend either anti-anxiety medications prior to the appointment or a sedated nail trim to keep your pet and our staff safe.

Anal Gland Expression

All dogs and cats have these two small glands near the anal opening. Anal gland issues arise when the anal glands of dogs and cats become over-filled, blocked, or irritated. These glands can be expressed at the clinic; however, an appointment is required if you prefer Dr. Lisa to express your pet's glands. If not, a technician will be expressing the anal glands.

Laser Therapy

Also known as Photobiomodulation, a therapeutic laser delivers a  dose of light energy to target tissues and results in decreased inflammation, decreased pain, and accelerated healing. This doctor-prescribed, technician-delivered modality effectively treats a wide variety of conditions including pre-surgical, post-surgical, acute, and chronic disease states. Our team would love to discuss treating your pet’s arthritis, wound, or other ailment with our therapy laser.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a broad term encompassing many techniques, all involving inserting tiny needles or injections into the skin at defined points, called acupoints, to achieve balance and healing throughout the body.

Radiography (X-Ray)

Radiographs, or X-rays, are the most common form of imaging veterinarians use. Taking an X-ray involves exposing your pet to a beam of mild radiation and acquiring an image based on the absorption of that radiation. Radiographs are helpful when examining internal organs, bones, heart, and lungs.

Diagnostic Laboratory

At Vital Animal Veterinary Clinic, we believe comprehensive diagnostic testing should be as uncomplicated as possible. Therefore, we offer a large variety of in-house testing, including complete blood count, biochemistry panel, thyroid panel, urine analysis, and many more. If we do not have a test available in our clinic, we will work with our various reference laboratories to ensure your pet receives the testing they need.

Day Admission

For your convenience we offer Day Admission appointments. You will be able to come to the clinic from 8am to 9am to drop your pet off with our staff, and Dr. Lisa will examine your pet between her surgeries/appointments that day. Our team will then contact you when they finish the examination and have a treatment strategy planned. Drop-offs are available only Monday - Friday. In some cases, pets MAY have to spend the night.

End of Life Care

Dr. Lisa and our team believe in complete, supportive care for your family. Our goal is to provide a meaningful quality of life to all our patients. Pain relief, mobility aids, herbal remedies, acupuncture, therapy laser, and physical therapy can all help pets live comfortably in their later years. We offer a variety of treatments, and will discuss with you the most appropriate for your family and your beloved pet. Our team has specialized education in palliative and end of life care, and want to help your family in whatever way we are able.

When the time comes, we strive to make your pet’s passing as peaceful as possible, and will try our best to accommodate your family’s wishes during your pet’s visit. We will explain the entire process, and check in with you multiple times to ensure that everything goes as you wish.

Our clinic works with Forever Friends for cremation services for all pets. They offer the opinion of a general cremation, where your pet is cremated and the ashes are spread. They also have a private cremation, where your pet is cremated, and their ashes are returned to the clinic. When your pet returns to our clinic, you will be notified right away.
